www.inlandair.bc.ca ) has scheduled flights to Masset ($220).
Ferry
In summer, BC Ferries (250/386-3431 or 888/223-3779, www.bcferries.com ) operates the
Northern Expedition between Prince Rupert and Skidegate five or six times a week, less
frequently the rest of the year. Departure times vary, but most often it's 11am from Prince
Rupert (arriving Skidegate at 5:30pm) and 11pm from Skidegate (arriving Prince Rupert
at 6am or 7:30am). Peak one-way fares: adult $45, child $22.50, vehicle $160. BC seniors
get a discount, as do all travelers outside the peak summer season. Cabins are available for
$70-80. The ferry terminal is five kilometers (3.1 miles) east of Queen Charlotte City at
Skidegate. Taxis usually wait at the terminal when the ferry arrives; expect to pay around
$15 to get into town.
GETTING AROUND
A ferry connects Graham and Moresby Islands, departing hourly in each direction
7am-10pm; peak round-trip fare is adult $9.50, child $5, vehicle $23. Apart from that, the
islands have no public transportation. Handiest for vehicle-less ferry travelers is Rustic
Rentals (250/559-4641) and Haida Gwaii RV (250/559-4118), both based in Queen Char-
lotte City and with older vehicles for $40 per day plus $0.18 cents per kilometer. Budget
(250/637-5688) has vehicles at Sandspit Airport.
