In-Depth Information
Moose Lake is the largest body of water in Mount Robson Provincial Park.
It's possible to traverse the trail's first section and return the same day, but to get all the
way to Berg Lake and back you need to stay in the backcountry overnight. Along the route
are seven primitive campgrounds, including three along the lakeshore. Overnight hikers
must register at the visitor center and pay a camping fee of $10 per person per night. Book-
ings are taken at the visitor center or through Discover Camping (519/826-6850 or 800/
689-9025, www.discovercamping.ca ) . Book early, as the quota fills quickly.
If the walk in seems too ambitious, Robson Helimagic (250/566-4700 or 877/454-4700,
www.robsonhelimagic.com ) makes drop-offs at Robson Pass from Valemount every
Monday and Friday, from where day hikers can return to the visitor center in one solid day
of downhill walking. The cost is $249 per person (minimum four).
