Under $50
The best value of all accommodations in town is the M Samesun Hostel (400 2nd St. W.,

walking distance of downtown. Providing a true home away from home, this heritage house
has been fully restored, complete with hardwood floors. Amenities include kitchen facilit-
ies, a laundry, free wireless Internet access, bike rentals, a game room, and a barbeque area.
The 26 double and twin rooms share bathrooms, but beds are comfortable and linen is sup-
plied.
$50-100
Inexpensive motels are spread through downtown and out on the highway. The best is
the Revelstoke Lodge (601 1st St. W., 250/837-2181 or 888/559-1979,
www.revelstokelodge.com , $99-119 s or d), with air-conditioned guest rooms, free wireless
Internet, a small outdoor hot tub, and an adjacent restaurant.

Downtown, the M Powder Springs Inn (200 3rd St. W., 250/837-5151 or 800/991-4455,
www.powdersprings.ca , $129 s or d) is a centrally located two-story motel providing good
value year-round in 55 regularly revamped rooms. Rates include passes to the local aquat-
ic center, while breakfast is $5 (continental) in summer and $10 (cooked) in winter. A
mountain-themed pub with a full menu and an outdoor hot tub are also on the premises.
At the eastern entrance to town is the Coast Hillcrest Hotel (2100 Oak Dr., 250/
837-3322 or 800/716-6199, www.coasthotels.com , $139-169 s or d), a large property with
spacious contemporary rooms, a fitness room, an outdoor hot tub, a restaurant that opens to
an outdoor terrace with sweeping mountain views, and a lounge.
Camping

is off the Trans-Canada Highway six kilometers (3.7 miles) east of downtown. The well-
kept campground offers grassy sites, lots of trees, a swimming pool, propane-filling facilit-
ies, a well-stocked store, free wireless Internet, hot showers, laundry facilities, and a main
lodge that looks like a Swiss chalet. The fun stuff includes a heated outdoor pool, two play-
grounds, rock-climbing lessons, evening campfires, and pancake breakfasts.
