In-Depth Information
Mount Revelstoke National Park
The park's most demanding trail is the 10-kilometer (6.2-mile) Summit Trail, which
begins—or, more sensibly, ends—at the entrance to the Meadows in the Sky Parkway and
runs to the Balsam Lake warden's cabin. The trail makes an elevation gain of 1,200 meters
(3,940 feet), so allow at least 3.5 hours for this strenuous uphill slog. The eight-kilometer
(five-mile) Lindmark Trail is equally strenuous, gaining 950 meters (3,120 feet) in eleva-
tion as it traverses up to Balsam Lake from the lookout eight kilometers (five miles) from
the park gate.
Information and Services
Services within the park are limited to picnic areas. Although backcountry camping is al-
lowed in designated areas (permit required; $10 pp per night), no road-accessible camp-
grounds lie within the park.
Revelstoke is home to the park's administration office (300 3rd St., 250/837-7500,
8:30am-4:30pm Mon.-Fri. year-round). Other sources of information are Rogers Pass
Information Centre, in nearby Glacier National Park, and the Parks Canada website
( www.pc.gc.ca ) .
