be viewed up close from hiking trails starting at the Illecillewaet Campground.

FLORA AND FAUNA
Three distinct vegetation zones can be seen within the park: montane (600-1,300 meters/
1,970-4,260 feet), subalpine (1,300-1,900 meters/4,260-6,230 feet), and alpine (1,900
meters/6,230 feet to over 3,050 meters/10,000 feet). The montane forest supports a lush
variety of tree species, including mountain hemlock, subalpine fir, Engelmann spruce, west-
ern red cedar, western hemlock, lodgepole pine, whitebark pine, western white pine, black
