right, Yoho Pass is straight ahead. After a short climb, the Iceline Trail option now enters its
highlight: a four-kilometer (2.5-mile) traverse of a moraine below Emerald Glacier. Views
across the valley improve as the trail climbs. Many day hikers return from this section of
trail, although officially it continues into Little Yoho River Valley. The trail to Yoho Pass
can be combined with the Iceline. It leads 3.7 kilometers (2.3 miles) to picturesque, spruce-
encircled Yoho Lake, then continues another easy one kilometer (0.6 mile) to the pass. The
pass is below the tree line, so views are limited, but from this point it's 5.5 kilometers (3.4
miles) and an elevation loss of 530 meters (1,740 feet) down to Emerald Lake, or 2.4 kilo-
meters (1.5 miles) north, with little elevation gain or loss, to an intersection with the Iceline
Trail.

Natural Bridge
Three kilometers (1.9 miles) west of Field is the turnoff to famous Emerald Lake. On your
way out to the lake, you pass another intriguing sight. At Natural Bridge, two kilometers
(1.2 miles) down the road, the Kicking Horse River has worn a narrow hole through a lime-
stone wall, creating a bridge. Over time, the bridge will collapse and, well, it won't be such
