Straddling the highway, tiny
Murrin Provincial Park
provides good boating, fishing,
swimming, and walking trails, as well as steep cliffs that attract novice and intermediate
rock climbers. The park has picnic tables but no campsites. Farther up the highway, stop at
Shannon Falls Provincial Park
to view the spectacular 335-meter-high (1,100-foot-high)
namesake falls from a platform at the base. You can picnic here or hike a few trails. No
campsites are available, but just across the road is
Klahanie Campground and RV Park
(604/892-3435,
www.klahaniecampground.com
,
$30-40), with free wireless Internet, a gen-
eral store, and a restaurant.
