Out of town to the west, Rockwater Secret Cove Resort (5356 Ole's Cove Rd., 604/

upscale waterfront complex overlooking Halfmoon Bay. It has a wide range of lodging op-
tions, from contemporary guest rooms to luxurious tenthouse suites, which are separated
from the main resort by a boardwalk and feature an absolute waterfront setting best enjoyed
from the private decks. The resort restaurant (daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, $22-30)
welcomes nonguests. It offers a refined setting with ocean views and a menu of locally-
sourced produce and ingredients, including a delicious Asian-inspired steelhead salmon
dish.
The campground at Porpoise Bay Provincial Park ($25), four kilometers (2.5 miles)
north of Sechelt, is one of the best on the Sunshine Coast. It has 84 forested sites and
hot showers. The campground is open year-round, with over half the sites reservable
