Pass under the South Arm of the Fraser River via Highway 99 and the George Massey
Tunnel, and you'll emerge in the sprawling industrial and residential district of Delta (pop.
115,000). Take Highway 17 (Exit 28) south from Highway 99 and turn right on Ladner
Trunk Road to access Ladner Village and Delta Museum and Archives (4858 Delta St.,
403/946-9322, 10am-4:30pm Tues.-Fri., adult $5, child $2.50). This museum tells the story
of the area's first inhabitants, the Salish, and the farming and fishing history of more recent
times.
