The obvious way to appreciate the harbor aspect of Nanaimo is by boat. To arrange a
cruise, wander down to the marina below the Bastion and inquire among the fishing and
sightseeing charter boats, or stop by the Nanaimo Visitor Centre and ask for a list of local
guides and charters, plus current prices.
Nanaimo Harbour Ferry

to mid-Oct., adult $22, senior $20, child $10) takes passengers on a 45-minute narrated
cruise of the harbor. During the cruise, you might spot seals, bald eagles, blue herons, and
cormorants. The departure point is the Fisherman's Market.
