decorated in the style of a rustic lodge, but the rooms couldn't be more different. Each is
elegantly furnished and offers great mountain views.
CAMPING
Enjoying a pleasant location just over 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) north of the village,
Riverside RV Resort (8018 Mons Rd., 604/905-5533 or 877/905-5533,
www.whistlercamping.com , tents $35, hookups $51) is the only campground within town
boundaries. It offers a modern bathroom complex (with in-floor heating), putting course,
playground,hottub,laundry,smallgeneralstore,andacafé(dailyfrom7am),withasmall
wooded area set aside for walk-in tent campers.
Out of town, the closest campground is in Nairn Falls Provincial Park, 28 kilometers
(17.4 miles) north (April-Nov., $21). For more facilities, Dryden Creek Resorts (50 km/
31 mi south, 604/898-9726 or 800/903-4690, $28-38) is a good option.
Food
Likethetownitself,thediningsceneinWhistleriship,ever-changing,andnotparticularly
cheap. Many small cafés dot the cobbled walkways of Whistler Village, while most bars
have reasonably priced pub-fare menus.
For a caffeine fix, Moguls Coffee House (4208 Village Sq., 604/932-4845, 6:30am-
midnight Mon.-Fri., until 1am Sat.-Sun.) is as good as any place—it's popular with both
locals and visitors, and the outdoor seating catches the morning sun.
Aussies living and visiting Whistler are drawn to Peaked Pies (4369 Main St., 604/
962-4115), which is open daily from 11am until the last pie has been sold (usually mid-af-
ternoon). Pay from $6 for traditional meat pies or a little extra for offerings such as chick-
en, leek, and mushroom.
ASIAN
Reasonably priced Mongolian fare is on the menu at Mongolie Grill (4295 Whistler Way,
Whistler Village, 604/938-9416, 11:30am-10pm daily; $21-29). This is one of the better
places to take children. They'll love choosing their own ingredients (meats, vegetables,
