A plane surface will be more or less definable as a dot, depending on the volume of space sur-
rounding it. The plane's angular shape in the first example is unimportant because its shape is
overwhelmed by the larger space and thus remains a dot.
In the second example, the format's decrease in size, relative to the plane, causes its shape to be-
come more important and thus is no longer simply a dot.
