The text in these examples is powerfully altered by changing the typographic color of its internal
parts. In the first version, a strategy of overall size change affects the sense of the text's loudness,
creating a crescendo. In the second version, calling out specific parts through changes in weight,
posture, width, and spacing produces a rhythmic journey—slowing down, speeding up—for the
