There are few visual stimuli as powerful as color; it is a profoundly useful commu-
nication tool. But the meaning transmitted by color, because it results from reflected
light waves transmitted through an imperfect organ—the eyes—to an imperfect inter-
preter—the brain—is also profoundly subjective. The mechanism of color perception is
