Overlapping Allowing one form to cross in front of another, even if both are the same color, will
create the illusion of foreground and background. Introducing size changes among forms that over-
lap, as well as changes in their relative values—or, for that matter, placing negative forms on top
of positive—will greatly enhance the illusion that the forms exist within three dimensional space.
