been reported being the double emulsion solvent evaporation method the
most common method used to encapsulate proteins (Figure 4.2A). The main
factors influencing the drug encapsulation eciency using the water-
oil-water solvent evaporation method are the viscosity of the internal water
phase, the volume of the inner and outer water phase and the concentration
of the polymer in the organic phase (Figure 4.2B). Other methods for pre-
paring particles are coacervation, hot-melt technique and spray drying
technique, among others.
