Old Falls Street rocks throughout summer during the Hard Rock Cafe Concert Series
( www.hardrock.com , 6pm-10pm Sat. July-Aug., free). On Saturdays in July and August,
OldFallsStreetistransformedintoanoutdoortheaterformusicactsfromthe1970s,1980s,
and 1990s. Performances are free; check the Hard Rock website for a list of artists playing
each Saturday.
Shopping
The area immediately surrounding the park has many nearly identical souvenir shops. A
refreshing alternative is Made in America (1 Niagara Center, 2nd floor, 716/304-3622,
www.madeinamericastore.com , 9am-5pm daily Apr.-Oct.). Set in the tall blue-glass build-
ingadjacenttothemainentranceofthestatepark,thestoresellssouvenirswithanauthentic
American flavor, along with clothing.
For non-touristy shopping, you'll need to travel outside of the downtown area. A little
more than five miles from downtown, you'll find the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Mall
(1900MilitaryRd.,716/297-2022, www.fashionoutletsniagara.com , 10am-9pm,Mon.-Sat.,
11am-6pmSun.).Therearemorethan150retailstores,suchasCoach,RalphLauren,Hugo
Boss, and Eddie Bauer. Many Canadian shoppers cross the border to find a better selection,
lower prices, and lower taxes on clothing and electronics. This complex is adjacent to a
Wal-Mart (1549 Military Rd., 716/298-4484, www.walmart.com ) , which, in turn, leads to
Niagara Falls Boulevard and another corridor of retail big-box stores.
Recreation
HIKING AND BIKING
Niagara Falls has several biking and hiking paths. The entire state park is designed to pro-
mote access by foot and bike. The portion of the Robert Moses Parkway running from the
Niagara Gorge Discovery Center to Devil's Hole Park is dedicated to bikers and hikers, as
well as those simply out for a stroll.
