The major attractions here are Terrapin Point, the Cave of the Winds, and the Tesla Statue.
Goat Island is also the gateway to Luna Island and the Three Sisters Islands.
The island is named for the goats kept on the island by a British settler in the late 1700s.
Subsequent attempts to name it Iris Island (after the goddess of rainbows) failed, and the
name Goat Island has stubbornly stuck.
To drive onto Goat Island, use the bridge at the foot of First Street. On the island, there
aretwoparkinglots($10)forvehicles(includingcampers).Onfoot,GoatIslandisaccessed
via the pedestrian bridge that joins the mainland portion of the park, Bath Island, and Goat
Island.
