In-Depth Information
If you're keen on staying in a room with a beautiful view of the falls, you'll have
to choose a chain hotel. Choose the M Marriott Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel & Spa
(6740 Fallsview Blvd., 866/576-5456, www.marriott.com , $220), because it's in the heart
of everything, just a few blocks from the casino, and very close to the incline railway that
takes you down to Table Rock. Make sure to reserve a room facing the falls (the higher
the floor, the better). There are two Marriott hotels on Fallsview Boulevard—check your
hotel's address so you don't register at the wrong property.
Clean, cheap, and close: That's the best way to describe the Rex Motel (6247 McLeod
Rd., 905/354-4223, www.rexmotel.com , $70). This no-frills, family-owned gem is five
minutes away from the glitz of Fallsview. The owners greet all guests and provide sugges-
tions for area attractions. The rooms include fresh towels folded into swan shapes, along
with free Wi-Fi.
LUNDY'S LANE
Lundy's Lane hotels are farther away from the falls, but generally have lower prices.
The Best Western Cairn Croft Hotel (6400 Lundy's Lane, 800/568-8520,
www.bestwestern.com , $175) is a solid value with 165 rooms and a beautiful indoor court-
yard area and pool. Parking is free and the hotel is a stop on the WEGO route.
The Super 8 Niagara Falls (5706 Ferry St., 800/536-1211, www.super8.com , $110) is
neat and clean. Prices for this 190-room hotel are a good value, especially since it has an
indoor pool and free parking. The only drawback is that motor coach groups use the hotel,
so there can be congestion at checkout times and at breakfast in the restaurant.
Canada's Best Value Inn (7034 Lundy's Lane, 888/315-2378,
www.canadasbestvalueinn.com , $70) lives up to its name by providing decent accommod-
ations at a reasonable price. This 45-room, two-story motel has an outdoor pool. Free wire-
less Internet and breakfast are included. As a bonus, it's just a block away from several res-
taurants, including the world-famous Flying Saucer Drive-In.
If you're camping, the Campark Resort (9387 Lundy's Lane, 877/226-7275,
www.campark.com , $45campsite,$67cabin)isagoodoption.Ithas400campsites,includ-
ing traditional sites for tents and large RV sites with water, power, and cable TV connec-
tions.Moderncabinswithbeds,kitchenettes, andotheramenities canberentedyear-round.
A large outdoor pool, hot tub, splash pad, and playground offer a welcome respite after a
long day of touring. Don't want to drive your RV into town? Daily shuttle-bus service is
provided.
