Getting There and Around
Being a small city has its advantages. One is the Buffalo Niagara International Airport
(BUF, 4200 Genesee St., Cheektowaga, 716/630-6000, www.buffaloairport.com ) , which is
easy to navigate because of its small size. Many air travelers from Toronto come here to
enjoy significantly reduced fares, easy parking, and faster boarding times. Several air carri-
ers serve the airport, including Southwest, United, American, Delta, and Jet Blue. From the
airport,it'sa15-minutedrivetodowntownBuffaloanda25-minutedrivetoNiagaraFalls.
Buffalo's main bus terminal, the METRO Transportation Station (181 Ellicott St.)
is downtown. All local transit bus routes have stops within a three-block radius of this
station. The local transit service, Niagara Frontier Transit Authority (716/855-7300,
www.nfta.com ) operates buses and trains in Erie and Niagara Counties. Bus route 204
($2.50) connects the METRO Transportation Station with Buffalo Niagara International
Airport. Bus route 40 ($2) will take you to Niagara Falls, New York. Check the online
schedules, as route coverage changes on weekends and holidays.
Intercity motorcoach service providers that stop at the METRO Transportation Station
include Greyhound (716/855-7531, www.greyhound.com ) , Coach USA (800/352-0979,
www.coachusa.com ) , MegaBus (877/462-6342, www.us.megabus.com ) , Neon (800/
231-2222, www.neonbus.com ) , New York Trailways (800/776-7548,
