Into the Peace River Valley
We are still in BC but we are now noticing how early the dawn arrives. At 3 am this morning
the birds were already awake and making a racket.
Today we are headed north on Hwy #97 towards an area that is known as The Peace on
account of the Peace River and the bucolic valley of rolling emerald meadows it meanders
through. The highway wanders alongside the river, with the Rocky Mountains rearing up in
all their granite glory to the east. Magnificent sight on a blue sky day, which it is.

forward to a coffee at Tim Horton's, the iconic Canadian donut stop.
Every town in Canada has at least three outlets. Don't they? Apparently not Chetwynd.
Steve popped up our chairs in the town square and put the kettle on while I walked over to
the IGA and picked up some fresh apple fritters. Not half bad at all.
