In-Depth Information
The museum is housed in the historic one-room schoolhouse. It is now packed floor to
ceiling with old stuff to show how things used to be - packages of pins and boxes of sock
garters and tins of horse liniment. These displays of domestic products always stimulate
my own memories of childhood on my grandparent's farm in the Fraser Valley. My grand-
father relied on Watkins liniment to heal anything from a cracked teat on a milk cow to the
scraped knee of his granddaughter. My nostrils constrict just thinking about the pungent
smell of Watkins liniment as he screwed off the lid.
