Camping on the Dempster
There is one commercial and eight government campgrounds. Kilometer markers for these
campgrounds start at the junction with the Klondike Hwy. On the road, the actual markers
restart at the border between the Yukon and Northwest Territories (at Km 465)
Heading south to north:
Tombstone Mountain Campground - Km 72
Engineer Creek Campground - Km 193
Eagle Plains Hotel RV Park - Km 369 (electrical hooks, showers and WIFI in the hotel
lobby)
Rock River Campground - Km 446
Nitainiliaii Campground - Km 541 but the road marker will read Km 76 in the NWT
Vadzaih Van Tshik Territorial Campground - Km 685 / road marker Km 220
Gwich'n Territiroail Campground - Km 699 / road marker Km 234
Chuk Territorial Park - Km 731 / road marker 266 (has electrical hookups)
Happy Valley Territorial Campground - Inuvik (has electrical hookups, a dump station,
laundry and showers)
