with a cafe, a gas pump and a bunk-house style motel. Coldfoot is at virtually the half way
point on the road north. When they were building the Haul Road and then the pipeline an
oldbuswashauledupasacookshack.Theworkersfiguredtheydeservedmorethananold
bus to cook/eat in so with every trip north they had the truckers fit whatever building ma-
terials they could onto their loads. As materials arrived, they used their own time to build
the café. And a fine one it is too. No cinnamon rolls on our visit, but amazing home made
pie.
