Bus: In summer there are many companies offering bus service to the park.
Weather
Weather from May to September is cool, wet, windy and it can even snow.
Summer temperatures range from 1-25°C / 35-75°F
Winter temperatures routinely drop to -40°F/C
Come prepared with rain gear as well as cold weather clothing, sturdy footwear, and a hat.
Open / Closing Dates
The park is open all year, but road access into the park is cut off once the snow starts flying
in September - exact date determined by Mother Nature. Once the road is closed, access is
via skis, snowshoes or dog sled. Snow conditions determine exactly when the park re-opens
in May, but there is a cool blog on the Denali website where you can follow the parks staff
as they plough the road open day by day
http://www.nps.gov/dena/spring-road-opening.htm
The staff post photos every day as well as notes on the challenges they are encountering, like
avalanches, ice fields, animals and so on.
