nogrid
option suppresses the
display of the grid. Note that this
option is placed within the
ylabel()
option, thus suppressing the grid for
the
-axis. (With bar charts, there is
never a grid with respect to the

-axis.)
If the grid were absent, and we wanted
to include it, we could add the
grid
