VERBS AND OBJECTS
Every game in the world is made up of rules. In
this chapter, we talk about designing those rules,
which I divide into the categories of “verbs” and
“objects,” and the relationships between them
that create the experience, the dynamics, of the
game for its player or players. Those rules are the
characters in our story and, like any characters, our
stories are most effective when we develop them
and their relationships fully.
