FRESNO CAMP
LENGTH AND TYPE: 3-mile out-and-back
RATING: Challenging
TRAIL CONDITION: Difficult to impassable, poison oak
HIGHLIGHTS: Find solitude at this camp amid the vast, remote wilderness.
TO REACH THE TRAILHEAD: The trailhead is on the east side of Cone Peak Road at
Mile 3.9. Trailhead parking is at Mile 3.7, just above the Vicente Flat Trailhead.
TRIP SUMMARY: You can approach this as either a 3-mile round-trip day hike or an
overnight out-and-back trip with a stay at Fresno Camp, one of Ventana's largest
camps. Thick brush encroaches on this lightly traveled trail.
Fresno Camp is primitive and difficult to access, but the solitude is worth the trek.
