DIRECTIONS:
Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park is on the east side of Highway 1, 26
miles south of the Carmel Valley Road (County Road G16) junction in Carmel and
28 miles north of the Nacimiento-Fergusson Road junction near Kirk Creek Camp-
ground. Big Sur Station is also on the east side of Highway 1, a half mile south of the
state park entrance. The complex serves the US Forest Service, CalTrans, and Cali-
fornia State Parks.
VISITOR CENTER:
Big Sur Station: (831) 667-2315. The station is a half mile
south of the park entrance. Open daily 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Memorial Day through Labor
Day, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. the rest of the year.
Solitude seekers must venture only a few miles from Highway 1 before being continuously
rewarded the farther they climb.

INFORMATION:
Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park charges a day-use fee of $10. No dogs
allowed on park trails. Fire permits required for all stoves and/or campfires (free and
available at Big Sur Station). Campfires permitted from late November through April
