LIMEKILN FALLS TRAIL
LENGTH AND TYPE: 1-mile out-and-back
RATING: Easy
TRAIL CONDITION: Well maintained, good for kids
HIGHLIGHTS: A 100-foot waterfall cascading down vertical limestone cliffs
TO REACH THE TRAILHEAD: Day-use parking is immediately past the kiosk, adjacent
to the restrooms. Park your vehicle and stroll past the north end of the campground
(sites 23-34), where all three of the park's trails begin.
TRIP SUMMARY: This hike traverses the steepest coastal canyon in the Lower 48, where
Limekiln Creek's headwaters pour down from Cone Peak, nearly a mile above sea
level and just 3.2 miles from the Pacific. The short, easy trail leads to the base of the
falls.
