What we need is to have a way to color
correct and otherwise alter the incoming
frames before adding them to the fi nal
edit. The best technique is to bring the
frames fi rst through the compositor, then
into the Sequence Editor. So that each
shot's frames can have their own compos-
iting network, a BLEND fi le will be cre-
ated with a master Scene that will house
the Sequence Editor with another Scene
for each additional shot.
Figure 16.2 shows the evolved story reel
BLEND fi le that will form the basis
for the fi nal edit. Change the name of
the active Scene to something descrip-
tive such as “FinalCut.” Then add a new
Empty Scene, using the main header's
