Add a
Vector Blur
node from the
Filter
menu. Connect the
character
input node's
Z
and
Speed
output sockets to the
Vector Blur
node's input sockets (Figure 15.19).

Add a
Composite
node from the
Output
menu so that the fi nal vector blurred image is the output. Of
course, enabling
Do Composite
in the
Scene buttons
is required so that the
Composite
node is used
as the fi nal result of any render commands (Figure 15.20).
When you've rendered once, you can add an
Output
Viewer
node and enable the
Backdrop
option
on the
Node Editor
header to show the composite right in the node window. At that point, you can play
around with the RGB Curves nodes to visually balance the two input nodes for a more natural composite.

Although this seems like a lengthy description, this is really a very simple node network and will become a
matter of a few seconds for you to create and confi gure when you have worked with the system for a few days.
