starting it too early will cause the pot to begin to break up in midair. A high Normal value is given for ini-
tial velocity so the pot seems to explode, while some Object velocity was added to keep things moving all
with the original motion of the pot. An AccZ value of
32.00 was provided to simulate acceleration due to
gravity. Particle settings for the fl owerpot are found in Figure 14.50.

Planes are added to represent the walls and counter top, and Defl ection is enabled in the Defl ection
panel of the Physics buttons . Figure 14.51 shows the defl ection settings and the plane objects that the par-
ticles will react to. The slanted plane is a stand-in for the bad dog so that the pieces of fl owerpot don't pass
through it after they bounce off the wall.
Playing the animation now shows the pot passing through the wall, but the particle points bounce off and
scatter across the countertop. It's time to destroy the actual pot.
