Linking issues with simulators
Blender's Simulators
Blender has a number of simulators available for your animation needs. These simulators can produce accu-
rate results that add a high degree of believability to your animations. While it is simple to confi gure the
simulators to make impressive demonstrations, integrating them successfully into a larger animation project
can be extremely diffi cult. So in addition to looking at a short example of each type of simulation, we'll also
take a look at integration issues and when it may be better to just skip the simulation altogether.
Fluids
Here's the three-step tutorial on creating fl uid simulations in Blender:
1. With the default cube selected, choose
Enable
and
Domain
from the
Fluid
panel of the
Physics but-
tons
(Figure 14.1).
2. Add a small sphere inside of the default cube and choose
Enable
and
Fluid
for it (Figure 14.2).
3. Reselect the original cube and press the
Bake
button (Figure 14.3). The bake might take some time, so
don't assume Blender has crashed or stalled. Watch the progress bar in the main header.
