smallest fi les, and other animation or video programs may have trouble reading it, but any version of Blender
on any platform will happily see and read the fi le, and the quality is more than good enough for an animatic.
In the Animation panel of the Scene buttons , set the frame range for the preview render to match the
range designated by the shot markers in the timeline (Figure 7.38). Hold down the Control key and click
the header Preview Render button (again, Figure 7.36). Blender will pipe the OpenGL 3D view to the ren-
der window as an animation and save it with the format and fi lename you specifi ed.

In the story reel fi le, you can add this new bit of animation above the storyboards.
At this point, you can regenerate your story reel animation if you like. If you are going to do so, it's a good
idea to give it a different name (such as “storyreel_animatic”) than the original storyboards-only animation, so
that when your project is done, you will have a progression of fi les to look back on. It's not a necessity, but it's
