this recipe assumes a working knowledge of oracle enterprise manager and a general grasp of enterprise
manager terminology. We will not present enterprise manager “basics” in this recipe; rather, we will focus on
exadata-specific enterprise manager monitoring. this recipe also assumes that the exadata dma has discovered an
exadata database machine in em 12c Cloud Control. if you have not yet done this, please refer to recipe 20-1.

Locating Your Exadata Targets in Cloud Control
Log in to Enterprise Manager 12c Cloud Control and navigate to Targets-Exadata as displayed in Figure 14-1 .

After selecting Exadata, your Exadata Database Machine (or Machines) will be displayed. Click on the target
name to open the main Exadata Database Machine page. Once you select your database machine, a number of
panes will be displayed including a target navigation pane, the target availability overview window, and a database
machine schematic.
Viewing Performance Information on Your Exadata Storage Grid
To view performance and configuration information for your Exadata Storage Grid, or storage cells, select the Exadata
Grid from the main Exadata target navigation page. The Exadata Storage Grid page displays Overview, Performance,
Capacity, Workload Distribution by Database, ASM Diskgroup summary, and Incidents panes. Figure 14-2 shows the
Performance pane, which includes a portion of the I/O load, CPU utilization, network utilization, and response time
statistics for your storage cells.
