How It Works
Exadata provides three types of metrics for I/O resource management: database, consumer group, and category.
With few exceptions, the metrics for each of these object types are the same and provide utilization, wait, and load
information for databases, consumer groups, and categories.
Monitoring I/O load and I/O wait statistics per database and consumer provides an excellent means to measure
the relative contribution to your overall I/O workload on your database machine. Database IORM statistics are
populated regardless of whether you have an IORM plan enabled on your storage cells because Exadata tags each I/O
request with the database name.
