—Enter the email you used when creating your Mojang account.
Unless you have an old Minecraft account, this is the email address you used
when establishing your account.
Password
—Enter your account password.

. The screen shown in

will become the default screen
you see the next time you launch Minecraft. If you are not currently connected to
the Internet,
Play
changes to
Play Offline
after a short delay, although you must
have at least logged in once online from the Minecraft Launcher before this option
becomes available.

The Minecraft Launcher provides the latest news, links to Minecraft-related
sites, and the Twitter handles of the Mojang team.

If this is the first time you've run Minecraft, you'll need to wait while the game
components download, but on a broadband connection this takes only a few
minutes. The Minecraft title screen shown in
Figure 1.4
is pleasantly spare. Al-
though it's tempting to party up and hit the multiplayer mode, let's head into the
single player mode first because this is the best place to learn Minecraft.
