Don't Make Your Password Impossible to Remember!
Passwords don't need to be a confusing, impossible-to-recall mishmash of letters
and numbers to be secure. A simple strategy that defeats even the most sophistic-
atedattackistochoosetworandomwords,anadjectiveandanoun,andthenadda
number. Then use another character to separate them. For example, red*Light29 is
strong. Avoid using your own initials, a common phrase, or your date of birth. Just
to be safe, also use something different from those you use for your regular email,
bank access, and so on. There's no need to make it too easy for the real creepers
out there to hijack your accounts.
Then check your inbox for an email from Mojang. Click the link contained in the email to
confirm your email address, and you're ready to go.

Purchasing Minecraft
After you've purchased Minecraft, it is permanently linked to your Mojang account.
There's no need to worry about losing the install software, misplacing serial numbers, or
changing PCs and needing to reinstall. Just login, download again, and install.
There is a way to download Minecraft after you've registered. But don't get too excited
aboutseeingthedownloadlinkthere.You'llstillneedtohavetheactualpurchaseofMine-
craft linked to your account before you can play. The good news is that you only need to
log in once from within the Minecraft Launcher to verify the purchase. After that you can
stillplay,evenoffline.Andifyouareonline,thesitewillconvenientlychecktoensurethat
you have all the latest files installed, updating as it goes.
To purchase and download Minecraft:

Log in to
http://minecraft.net
with the account you set up earlier, and click the big
Buy Now
button on the right of the web page. This takes you to the Mojang store.

Click
Buy Minecraft for this account
. From there, the rest is standard online pur-
chasing. Provide your credit card details and billing address, and you can complete
your order.

When you've completed your purchase, you can return to
http://minecraft.net
at
any time.
