The rest of the settings apply to the DVD's menu. You can choose a Black or White background from the Disc
Template pop-up menu and enter a name for the DVD in the Title field. When the disc loads in the player, you
can choose to have it Show Menu or Play Movie by selecting either option from the drop-down menu. A back-
ground image can be added to the menu by clicking the Add button and navigating to an image file on your
computer. Clicking the Preview button brings up a thumbnail of your movie, allowing you to skim through the
movie for a final check before burning. There's also an Advanced button, which gives you background render-
ing options and the ability to send the project to Compressor. Final Cut Pro automatically places chapter mark-
ers every 30 seconds to help you navigate your movie, but you can add your own markers by sending the pro-
ject to Compressor (we show you how to do this later in the chapter). To complete the process, insert a blank
disc into your DVD drive and click Burn.
Blu-ray
To create a Blu-ray disc choose Share Blu-ray. A dialog box appears with the same settings as you get when
burning a DVD, but with some additional backgrounds to choose from in the Disc Template pop-up menu. A
