vorites, and then select and play Scene 2 Slate 4 Take 2. We previously rated a short section of this clip as a
favorite so that we can use it for just such a purpose.
We only need to use the video portion of this clip because the dialogue is already included in Scene 2 Slate
3 Take 6 in the Timeline. To solely add the video portion of the clip, choose Edit Source Media Video
Only or press Shift+2. The start of Scene 2 Slate 4 Take 2 shows Katie about to get out of the car, so let's
find this same position in the Primary Storyline. This occurs at 24 seconds 1 frame in the Timeline during
Scene 2 Slate 3 Take 6. Position the playhead at that location and choose Edit Connect to Primary St-
oryline or press Q to add Scene 2 Slate 4 Take 2 as a Connected clip (see Figure 9.12). Choose Edit Source
Media All to switch the source media back and play the edit.

9. The start of the Connected clip works well, but the cut back to Scene 2 Slate 3 Take 6 could use some
trimming. However, because Scene 2 Slate 4 Take 2 is a Connected clip, we need to make it part of the
Primary Storyline before we can do so. Control-click on Scene 2 Slate 4 Take 2 in the Timeline and choose
Overwrite to Primary Storyline. Scene 2 Slate 4 Take 2 is overwritten to the sequence, and because the clip
has no sound, the audio from the previous clip expands across the length of the clip (see Figure 9.13).
