5. Press Option+G to create a new Compound clip. The new Compound clip now appears inside the
Primary Storyline (see Figure 7.12).

6. Double-click the Compound clip to open it in the Timeline. Scene 8 Slate 54 Take 3 is the sole clip in the
Primary Storyline, and the Secondary Storyline connects to it just as before (see Figure 7.13). If this Com-
pound clip were to be broken apart, the Secondary Storyline would remain unaffected.
