In addition to Reynolds number, the drag coefficient is strongly influenced by the geometry
and orientation of an object. Table 5-2 shows the drag coefficient of some basic two-dimensional
shapes in air at a Reynolds number of 1.0e+5. The drag coefficient values are based on the
frontal area of the object. The arrows indicate the direction of the air flow.
