In-Depth Information
its use. Those become hidden when the component consists of more than one
parking space.
The Component Options dialog offers the user some creative configuration
options. Clicking on the individual cars with the Interact will hide them. This
Dynamic Component was built with imperial units, but as with most numeri-
cal operations with SketchUp, metric units can be entered to adjust the park-
ing spot width and depth.
The “Sloppy DynaComp Parking” component has replicating parts, but
because there are several other things happening at the same time, the
Component Attributes is more complex than the simple house replication
example shown at the beginning of this appendix. This is in part because it
is not one static parking space that is repeating, but a collection of lines that
define the parking space. The lengths of those lines and the distance between
them are defined by the user. Additionally, the angle of these lines can be
user configured. These configurations affect formulas that determine overall
lengths and positions. Because angles are involved, several trigonometric
functions are called. I hope you remember SOH CAH TOA.
