• Thenurserycartscamewithcushions,onwhichIlaidthebabies.Icreated
“blankets” over the babies with simple curved shapes, stretched and
sized them to fit over their bodies and inside the carts, and tucked them
beneath their chins. The cushions and blankets all used the same texture
so that one blended into the other.

Tip
Most trees in the topic were actually “2.5D.” These were created with
2D trunks and branches, with leaf clusters mounted on a series of
transparent shadow planes that were set to face me in the components'
options. No matter what the camera angle, the trees appeared to have
hundreds of individual leaves and always cast a shadow. This technique
significantly reduced each model's size. (Unfortunately in this case, I know
only enough to be “dangerous.” I believe the person who pioneered
this technique is “Tomsdesk,” and this individual's trees can be seen on
www.solosplace.com.)
