joint between the panel and the other door components, the stiles and rails.
In SketchUp, I worked on various alternatives to accommodate expansion/
contraction of the center panel. I settled on having the corner pieces with
tongues glued into grooves in the stiles and rails. Then I allowed an expansion
gap surrounding the perimeter of the panel. The final SketchUp design of the
door is shown in Figure 8.12 in an exploded view.
