end up with a folder of up to 40 different files at various stages of
the model progression. Sometimes, SketchUp may crash, or you may
delete certain objects by mistake and not notice until you have made
subsequent saves. If this happens, you can easily retrace your steps to find
the object in a previously saved version, copy this object, open the most
up-to-date file, and use the Paste-in-Place option. The deleted object is
back and in the exact location as before. No added annoyance of having
to re-create the lost item.
Tip
Once a model has begun to take shape and is growing in complexity, a
good tip is to toggle visibility by using the Scene Manager. Select different
styles, choose which parts of the model should be hidden, and create a
new scene. For instance, you may add a scene where all trees are hidden
so that you can concentrate on the built design and the program speed is
not affected. Likewise, you may add a scene with shadows and edge style
profiles turned off to ensure SketchUp runs as smoothly as possible.
See the Scene Manager for different options for work settings that help to
maximize your productivity.
