the physical area need not be vast. In fact, vastness if lacking in structure and
interest can interfere with restorative benefits. The Lescar Lane Park design
aims to maximize the restorative benefits of the selected area using cost-
effective and practical means.
Initially, I came up with a variety of rough sketches of ideas for the site using
paper and pen. I find this is still the best initial design method; once I had the
basic design structure down on paper, I was able to start the SketchUp model
even though many design issues were still unresolved.
By creating a SketchUp model, many design problems or issues are answered
in the “step-by-step” build of the model.

Why SketchUp?
The straightforward style of SketchUp is probably one of the most attractive
features of this model. In just a few short hours, you can be up and running
the program. In addition, in a few months, you can learn nearly all there is
to know about the tool and become extremely productive. The benefits of
SketchUp are as follows:
