If you are going to want to convert your files to the MP3 format, then you are going to
need to download the LAME MP3 Library. You can do this fairly painlessly by going to
the preferences in Audacity.
1.
Go to the Edit menu and choose Properties.

Choose the Libraries option in the left hand section of the Properties window as
shown in Figure 11-3.

Once there, you can choose to point Audacity to your LAME library if you already
have it installed on your computer. If you do not already have the LAME library
installed, continue to step 4.

Click the Download button, which will take you a site where can download the
latest and greatest copy of the LAME MP3 Library, as shown in Figure 11-4.
