Initially, pristine MWCNTs underwent the 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of
azomethine ylides, forming the zeroth-generation (G0) dendron-MWCNTs.
This was followed by incorporation of ethylenediamine and methyl acrylate
in a divergent approach (Fig. 5.32), thus deriving generations G1 and G2.
